Master Eric Asso
Lead Instructor at Bradley Karate Studio
I am currently the Senior Instructor of Bradley Karate Studio on Second Street in Lancaster. I have been studying under Grandmaster Roger Bradley (9th Degree Black Belt) since March of 1985. I also studied Northern Shaolin Kung Fu briefly while stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, FL near Fort Walton Beach. I also did some MMA training for 2 years at our studio, when the classes were offered.
I am 48 years old. I come from a large family. I am the 2nd oldest of 8 children.
I am a Class of ’87 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School.
I served in the Air Force as an Electronic Warfare Technician from December 1994 to July 1999 where I repaired radar jamming equipment for the F-111’s & F-16’s in New Mexico, and MC-130P/N’s in Florida. After leaving the Air Force, I went to Thaddeus Stevens Tech School to get an Associates Degree in Electronics.
I teach Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan. It is a Korean Karate style with techniques dating back 900 years. The style has about 40/60 emphasis on both hands and feet. We teach empty hand kata, one-steps (which is blocking and countering a punch), free-sparring, multiple sparring, club and knife defenses, and weapons kata (after the green belt level). I’ll also mix in teachings of other techniques I’ve learned from other styles like Judo and Kung-Fu.
